Print-Focused Family Photography in Milwaukee | Studio 29 Photography

The photographs people treasure most are rarely the ones buried in a phone gallery behind 9,000 screenshots, grocery lists, and blurry videos from a Tuesday afternoon. They are the ones you live with. The album your child pulls off the shelf. The framed portrait you pass every morning on your way to the kitchen. The image on the wall that quietly becomes part of your family’s history because you see it often enough that it starts to belong to your home, not just your hard drive.

That is why my family photography experience at Studio 29 is print-focused.

I photograph families because I care about preserving what is real, and I design this experience around helping you end up with something finished, tangible, and lasting. Not just a folder of beautiful files you mean to print someday. Not just images that feel meaningful for one week and then disappear into the endless scroll of everyday life. I want your photographs to keep working long after the session is over, because that is where so much of their value actually lives.

Why I’m Print-Focused

I believe family photographs should be part of your daily life. They should be on your walls, in your hands, on your coffee table, and woven into the way your home feels. They should remind your children what their childhood looked like, and they should remind you, years from now, of the tiny things you were too busy loving to realize you’d eventually forget.

Digital files matter, and I know people want them. That is why my clients receive matching digital backups of the images they choose for their printed artwork. But I do not build the Studio 29 experience around handing over a large gallery and hoping you figure out the rest later. Most families are busy. Most parents have good intentions. Most people never get around to printing what matters most unless someone makes the process easier. That is part of my job and I take it seriously.

The Studio 29 Family Photography Experience

From the beginning, this experience is built around the final result; gorgeous portraits to be loved & lived with for generations.

1. Planning with intention

We begin with planning support so your session feels personal and easy. That can include help with wardrobe, location ideas, and talking through what you want these images to feel like in your home. Some families love an in-home session because it captures the season of life they are actually living. Others want the softness of a favorite park, the rhythm of downtown, or the atmosphere of my Bay View studio, The Green Room.

2. A relaxed, guided session

On session day, my goal is never to force a performance. I’m paying attention to connection, movement, expression, and the little in-between moments that often end up meaning the most. We make room for both the frame-worthy portraits and the less polished moments that feel like your real life.

3. Signature finishing

Every finalized image receives my signature Studio 29 polishing, which is clean, natural, and timeless. I want your photographs to feel elevated, but still like your family.

4. Reveal + Design

After your session, you’ll meet virtually with our in-house art specialist for your Reveal + Design appointment. This is where you see your finished photographs for the first time and choose how you want to live with them. Albums, framed artwork, wall collections… this is the part where everything starts to become real.

For many families, this ends up being their favorite part, because they are no longer trying to make decisions alone or telling themselves they will “figure it out later.” You leave with a plan, finished selections, and the confidence of knowing your images are actually going somewhere meaningful.

This experience is designed around finished artwork.

Depending on your session and selections, that may include:

  • heirloom albums
  • framed wall art
  • custom artwork for your home
  • printed photographs designed to be seen and enjoyed
  • matching high-resolution digital backups of the images selected for print

If you want additional digital files beyond your printed selections, those are available too. But the heart of the Studio 29 experience is helping you create something lasting, not just downloadable.

What You’ll Leave With

who is this for?

This experience is for families who care about meaning, memory, and longevity.

It is for parents who want their photographs to become part of their home.

It is for families who value being guided through the process instead of doing every step themselves.

It is for people who understand that photographs are not just for announcing that the session happened. They are for remembering what mattered.

If you are looking for a quick gallery of files and a fully DIY approach after delivery, this may not be the best fit. But if you want a thoughtful, elevated family photography experience that ends in artwork you can actually live with, you are in the right place.
